Exploration of future transit option alongside Kelowna rail trail

Would you take alternative transit alongside Kelowna’s rail trail corridor?

That’s one of five research projects underway in a partnership between the City of Kelowna and UBC Okanagan.

It involves costs and social impacts with one focus being a mode of autonomous or driverless transit.

The research, expected to be done by the summer of 2026 , could inform future planning on transit between UBC Okanagan campus, the airport, and the downtown.
