$22 million linear park plans for Kelowna’s Lower Mill Creek
Kelowna City Council will be asked to endorse an extensive and ambitious $22 million environmental plan for Lower Mill Creek next week.
A number of reports have been written since 2001, and now it’s time to plan short, medium and long-term work over the next 20 years.
The so-called Lower Mill Creek Linear Park will see strategies for land acquisition, park improvements, and programming along the waterway that stretches from the Parkinson Rec Centre to the lake.
Short-term (1-5 years), medium-term (6-10 years), and long-term (11-20 years) goals are outlined in various sections with different levels of effort from connecting communities in a safe, accessible manner to full corridor build-out, including surface treatment and visual identification.
