Teen injured after stabbing at a Coldstream grad party

A teenager was sent to hospital after an altercation at a high school graduation party escalated and they were stabbed.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a party on Mackie Drive in Coldstream around 1 a.m. Sunday, June 22.

Officers arrived at the property and learned that the 15-year-old victim had already been taken to hospital for treatment.

The investigation determined the victim was in a confrontation with an 18-year-old suspect that turned physical and resulted into the stabbing of the victim, who was seriously injured.

The alleged suspect had left the party before police arrived, but was tracked down and arrested. They were later released from custody pending a future court date.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and anyone who witnessed the altercation and had not already spoken with police were asked to call the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file #2025-9901.
