Serious assault at Mushroom Beach

What started as words turned into punches at Mushroom Beach in Kelowna, and police are asking for witnesses.

Kelowna RCMP responded to the June 13 incident after multiple reports of an assault near the water. One person was taken to hospital following the altercation.

Mounties are looking for dash cam or surveillance footage from the area.

In a media release issued Tuesday, Kelowna RCMP asked for the public’s assistance. They said due to the Privacy Act, the nature of the injuries can not be divulged.

Investigators are asking anyone who has not yet spoken with police and who may have dash camera footage or video surveillance from Mushroom Beach or the area near the intersection of Lake Avenue and McDougall Street between 7:00pm and 8:00pm on Friday, June 13, to contact the RCMP detachment at 250-762-3300 and reference the file number 2025-33325.
