Sewer Main Line Installation

Coldstream looking at federal funding for $11M sewer project

Jun 23, 2025 | 6:00 AM

The District of Coldstream will be applying for a multi-million dollar grant to help fund an infrastructure project.

The district is looking to do a sanitary sewer infill project to connect properties on roads off Aberdeen Road, Whetzell Drive, and Wisbey Drive to the system.

This work will require installing approximately 4,000 linear metres of sewer main, which would cost an estimated $11-million.

A district report recommends Coldstream Council task staff with applying to the Strategic Priorities Fund to help offset those costs.

The program, delivered by the federal Canada Community-Building Fund, provides grants of up to $7-million for capital projects.

The deadline to apply for the grants is Sept. 12, 2025, and staff recommend council approve of pursuing the funding.

The matter will be discussed by Coldstream Council at the regular meeting Monday, June 23.
