Power was restored for the 1,930 customers in the Okanagan Landing shortly before 7 p.m. Friday.

B.C. Hydro said a tree came down on wires, causing the outage which lasted for just under 1.5 hours.

Nearly 2,000 customers in Vernon’s Okanagan Landing lost power Friday evening.

Power went out at 5:31 p.m. June 20, affecting 1,930 customers in the area.

The cause of the outage was not known immediately and B.C. Hydro said a crew was assigned to the outage at 5:32 p.m.

There were two other minor outages Friday evening as well.

One was affecting less than five customers at the corner of 17th Avenue and Highway 97, the cause of that one was unkown with a crew assigned as of 5:12 p.m.

The other was due to equipment failure and also affecting less than five customers on Lardeau Way, with a crew on-site as of 5:07 p.m.

There were no estimates for when any of the outages would be resolved as of the latest update.
