Jun 20, 2025 | 11:49 AM

Environment Canada is warning of a storm moving into the Okanagan.

The weather agency issued Severe Thunderstorm Watches for the North and Central Okanagan Friday, June 20.

It said the storm could bring thunder, lightning, heavy rain, gusting winds, and hail.

Environment Canada warned the rain could cause localized flooding, the hail could cause some property damages, and that lightning strikes can be deadly.

The storm could also bring wet snow in higher elevation, and alerts were issued for the Okanagan Connector, Coquihalla and Highway 3. Up to four centimetres of snow could accumulate on the mountain passes between Friday and Saturday afternoon.
