Work zone safety
Slow down, phone down

Keep your head up and put your phone down.
That’s the message from B.C.’s Work Zone Safety campaign for drivers in roadside work zones.
“Every year, we hear about near-misses — or worse — in work zones because a driver was looking at a screen instead of the road,” said Trace Acres, program director for Road Safety at Work, which manages the Work Zone Safety campaign. “A moment of inattention can change someone’s life forever.”
Right now, crews are resurfacing 73 lane kilometres on Highway 97 in West Kelowna and Highway 33 at Rutland, making these work zones extra busy.
