Coldstream awarded funding to support emergency operations

Provincial funding will go to support emergency response in the District of Coldstream.
The district was awarded $39,979 through the Provincial Community Emergency Preparedness fund to support training and operational equipment at the Emergency Operation Centre.
“This [funding] will help to ensure that Coldstream is better equipped to respond to emergencies and support people who are evacuated,” the district said in a release.
The provincial funding is administered by the Union of B.C. Municipalities to ensure local governments and First Nations are prepared to respond to climate-related emergencies.
