Work underway to open Vernon’s new Urgent Primary Care Centre in 2026
A new facility to provide health care for Vernon and area residents is expected to be ready sometime next year.
In August 2024, it was announced that a second Urgent Primary Care Centre (UPCC) would be established in Vernon.
In an email to Vernon Matters on Thursday, June 5, Interior Health said they was working with the Ministry of Health, Shuswap North Okanagan Primary Care Network, and community partners towards establishing the new facility.
They said this would assist with increasing access to episodic primary care left after Vernon’s last walk-in clinic closed in November 2023.
