NexusBC highlights its supports and services to mark Seniors Week

A local agency looks to celebrate B.C. Seniors Week by highlighting the services and supports available to older adults in Vernon and the North Okanagan.

Seniors Week runs from June 3 to 9, and NexusBC Community Resource Centre has invited local seniors and their families to learn about the services it provides to support independence, well-being, and connection.

The agency offers a range of programs including health and wellness support, social engagement opportunities, and access to vital resources.

NexusBC stated its key services offered in Vernon include reducing isolation through visitation; information and referral services for health, housing and financial help; caregiver support; senior housing guide; educational workshops and social events; food security support; and community gardens.

“B.C. Seniors Week is the perfect time to recognize the contributions of older adults in our community and to encourage seniors to access programs that promote their independence and well-being,” NexusBC stated in a release.
