Vernon residents wins big in a slot game

A large cheque has been written out to a Vernonite who won an online slot game.

The B.C. Lottery Corporation said Joshua Haymond won a Snake Rattle & Roll slot prize of $630,000.

The man was reportedly waiting for a friend to arrive when he decided to play the game on BCLCS’s PlayNow online service on May 3, 2025.

“My friend was running late, so I decided to play the game on PlayNow,” Haymond told BCLC.

“My first thought was, ‘What the heck just happened?’ I was so excited!”

Haymond also said he kept it secret, not even telling his girlfriend, until his win was confirmed.

The Vernon man plans to use some of the funding on a fancy dinner, as well as home renovations.
