Over 100 City of Vernon staff earned over $100K in 2024

The number of people employed by the City of Vernon earning over $100,000 surpassed 100 individuals last year.

The Employee Remuneration and Expenses report identified 103 individuals on staff, including Mayor Victor Cumming, who made over $100K in gross earnings in 2024.

Among those individuals, 25 earned more than $150K, of whom 12 took home more than $175K, and four who made more than $190K.

The highest paid staff member in 2024 was the now-retired Chief Administrative Officer, Patti Bridal, who’s gross earnings were $244,522.

City staff pay for those who made $75,000 or more was just over $23 million in 2024. Total staff pay that year was just under $35 million.

Meanwhile, Mayor Cumming’s remuneration last year was $116,830. Councillors Teressa Durning, Kelly Fehr, and Kari Gares all earned $43,225; Councillors Brian Quiring and Akbal Mund earned $43,504; while Brian Guy took home $44,749.
