Construction of Vernon’s new roundabouts progressing

Progress is being made in the building of new traffic control measures in Vernon.
City staff report the contractor in charge of the new roundabout at Pleasant Valley Road and 39th Avenue was working on underground utilities as of Monday, May 26, and was on schedule to have the roundabout constructed by November of 2025, as previously planned.
The contractor in charge of the roundabout at Silver Star Road and Phoenix Drive had also reportedly completed the temporary road and retaining wall work on the east side of the intersection.
The report stated all traffic was being detoured around the site of the Pleasant Valley project, though noted efforts were being made to allow access for emergency vehicles, affected residents, as well as public transit, and garbage and recycling trucks.
