RCMP Targets Unsafe Grad Parties

As grad season kicks off, the Kelowna RCMP is focusing on keeping celebrations safe by raising awareness about the dangers of unsanctioned parties.

Often held in remote, unsupervised areas, these gatherings can lead to risky behavior like underage drinking and drug use.

Police are working with School District 23 to monitor activity and ensure student safety.

“We encourage parents to have a discussion with their kids about these unsanctioned events,” says Cst. Mike Della-Paolera, Community Youth Safety Officer. “We want all students to be able to celebrate the end of the school year in a safe manner.”
