West Kelowna’s Gorman Group buys Princeton Weyerhaeuser mill

May 22, 2025 | 11:51 AM

Seattle-based timber company Weyerhaeuser says it’s selling its lumber mill operation in Princeton, B.C., to West Kelowna-based Gorman Group.

Weyerhaeuser says the CAN $120 million price tag includes the lumber mill facility and all timber licence assets in B.C.

The lumber company, which is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange, says it has a long-standing relationship with the family-owned Gorman Group, the mill’s largest customer.

Forests Minister Ravi Parmar said he welcomed the news of the deal as the mill operation is now in the hands of a local family-owned company.

Ravi Parmar said Wednesday, locally, family-owned-and-operated forest companies are the lifeblood of the forest industry and a cornerstone of the economy.

He said companies like Gorman Group believe in the future of forestry and they know that B.C. is a great place to invest in that future.
