City Grant Reports Overdue

Two agencies may have to repay funds after not reporting on city grant uses

Local agencies may have to repay city grants after not filing out the required reports.

The City of Vernon’s Council Discretionary Policy states organizations that receive discretionary grants must submit reports to the city within two years to outline how the funds were spent.

A staff report said two agencies were late in submitting their reports relating to grants issued in April of 2023.

• Family Resource Centre, $4,200 for short-term counseling for men who have experienced sexual assault
• John Rudy Health Resource Centre Association, $6,670 to assist with the cost of transportation to medical appointments and for wages specific to its Medical Transportation Fund Program

The staff report said, should the city not hear back on reporting, it would request repayment of the April 2023 grant award after June 16, 2025.
