One person taken to hospital following crash near Spallumcheen

One person was taken injured in a crash on the highway near Spallumcheen.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP told Vernon Matters that a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 97A and McLeod Road was reported shortly before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12.

Officers determined the collision occurred when a vehicle that was stopped on McLeod Rd. attempted to turn into the southbound lanes of the highway, leading to a broadside collision with a northbound vehicle.

Emergency Health Services also responded to the collision.

“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition,” Paramedic Public Information Officer, Brian Twaites, told Vernon Matters in an email.

The RCMP did not provide any information on the impacts the collision had to highway traffic.
