Another part of Kelowna looks set for major development changes.

The final Burtch/Harvey Area Development Plan is being put to city council next week that would green-light a proposed multiple high rise project going up next to the Parkinson Recreation area.

The proposal calls for five high-rise buildings as part of a mix of uses, including apartment housing, office, and commercial retail units.

The parcels of land where Burtch meets Harvey will have zoning similar to the Capri-Landmark Urban Centre, which allows for 26 storeys and as high as 39 storeys in some special cases.

The council process May 12 includes amending the Official Community Plan for land use purposes.

If approved a Public Hearing would be scheduled to allow council to hear from Kelowna residents.
