Kelowna woman ready to travel after lotto win

A local woman has scratched her way into a huge lottery win.

Vanessa Mina of Kelowna won the $675,000 top prize in the Set for Life game.

Mina told the B.C. Lottery Corporation she was sitting at her kitchen table when she scratched her ticket.

“I asked my husband how many symbols I had to match, even though I knew it was three,” she told the BCLC.

“I had to make sure… I kept repeating, ‘Is it three?’”

Mina, a self-proclaimed outdoors lover and traveller, said she planned to use some of the winnings to travel, though had no exact plans aside from wanting to go “somewhere overseas.”

She added “it feels like a dream” and that it’s “surreal to this day” that she managed to scratch her way to the top prize.
