Experience OC

OC Vernon to host hundreds of local high schoolers

May 6, 2025 | 2:00 PM

High school students from School District 22 will be able to learn about further education opportunities.

Okanagan College Vernon will host over 400 students from across Greater Vernon as part of Experience OC Wednesday, May 7, an event designed to help students explore post-secondary education programs and help them imagine their futures.

Students will be connected with professors and college students, tour the campus, sit in on college classes, and learn about the programs that range from traders to business, and from arts to health care.

“Post-secondary can sometimes feel overwhelming — students aren’t always sure where or how to start. Experience OC is designed to ease that uncertainty, empowering students to see that their next steps are not only possible but within reach — right here in their own community,” Mehgan Cabrera, OC’s associate director of recruitment and enrolment management, said.
