Gas prices up ahead of the weekend

Vernon’s gas prices saw an increase Thursday.

GasBuddy reported the average price per litre of regular gasoline in Vernon was 141.9¢ as of May 1.

That was up 12¢ from the previous day, and up 8.1¢ from the week before.

However, GasBuddy did state the price was down 20¢ from April’s average, and down 33¢ from the average recorded in May of 2024.

Kelowna also saw a slight price hike on Thursday.

The average price per litre was 138.9¢, up 6¢ from the day before.

However, prices were down 1.0¢ from the previous week, 20¢ from the month before, and 36¢ on an annual basis.

The local prices were still below the provincial average, which GasBuddy reported being at 151.5¢ per litre Thursday.
