Almost 73 per cent of voters cast ballots in Vernon riding

The new Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee riding had a large turnout for the 2025 Federal Election.

Elections Canada said 67,093 of 92,192 registered voters in the region cast votes, reflecting a 72.78 per cent voter turnout.

Conservative candidate, Scott Anderson, won the seat with 33,852 votes, or 50.5 per cent support.

Liberal Anna Warwick Sears finished second with 28,714 votes (42.8 per cent), followed by NDP Leah Main with 3,422 (5.1 per cent), and Green Party candidate Blair Visscher with 1,105 (1.6 per cent).

In the 2021 Federal Election, Elections Canada data showed the then North Okanagan-Shuswap riding saw 72,769 of 112,329 registered voters cast a ballot, representing a 64.78 per cent turnout.

Elections Canada said a total of 19,597,674 votes were cast across Canada in the 2025 Federal Election. That represent a 68.7 per cent turnout as the total registered electors in the country was 28,525,683.

National voter turnout was also higher than the 2021 election, which saw 62.6 per cent of registered voters cast ballots.

Elections Canada noted its registered electors figures did not include those who registered on election day.
