Body of man recovered following mudslide into Okanagan Lake

A body of the person who died during the mudslide in West Kelowna has been recovered
Kelowna RCMP, with assistance from the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team and Central Okanagan Search and Rescue, recovered the body of a 64 year old man who was in the vehicle that was pushed into Okanagan Lake during the West Side Rd. mud slide on April 1.
The recovery was made Wednesday, although police confirmed the man had died in the vehicle earlier this month.
“We offer our sincerest condolences to the friends and family of this man and will continue to offer any support services they may require,” the Mounties said in a brief release Thursday.
