Chemicals deployed as police search Chase residence

Mounties deployed a chemical agent as they executed a search warrant in Chase Tuesday morning.

Police said at 7:20 a.m. that the Kamloops RCMP Targeted Enforcement Unit, with support from the Southeast District Emergency Response Team and Chase RCMP, executed a search warrant on Third Avenue in Chase.

“Due to the high-risk nature of the operation, chemical agents have been deployed,” Kamloops RCMP said in a release.

“Residents in the vicinity may notice a distinct odour, which may cause minor irritation but is not harmful.”
