all candidates forum on climate and environment

Environmental topics to be discussed in all candidates forum

Apr 10, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Most of the candidates in the Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee riding will take part in an environmental discussion.

Sustainable Environment Network Society (SEN) will host a virtual all-candidates forum on climate and the environment Friday, April 11.

The public will be able to find the Zoom link on the SENS website and tune in to the forum, which will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

SENS told Vernon Matters the Liberal, NDP and Green Party candidates confirmed they would participate in the forum, however, the Conservative candidate cannot take part due to prior commitments.

The candidates will be asked questions relating to climate and the environment during the forum, and they were also asked to fill out pre-forum questions:

How do you and your party plan to address climate change in a way that is both ambitious and achievable? Please outline your specific targets, timelines, and strategies. How would your party fund this plan?

How do you see Climate Solutions intersecting with related crises in the Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee riding?

What do you think the federal government should do to address the misinformation and disinformation that is being spread about the climate crisis?

SENS will share the candidates submitted answers with the public as part of the forum.
