Pile burning to happen in Lake Country

Planned pile burnings will be done in Lake Country in mid-April.
As part of a Wildfire Risk Reduction project, the B.C. Wildfire Service will be burning approximately 100 piles of fire fuel over the course of the month.
The first burning could go as early as April 14, though the exact timing of the burns would be dependent on the site, weather, venting and snow conditions Burning would only be done if conditions were favourable.
The BCWS warned that smoke and flames may be visible from the community and the highway.
