Preparations underway for Dancing with the Shuswap Stars

A fundraising event in support of the Shuswap Hospice Society will take place next winter.

Preparations are underway for the 2025 Dancing with the Shuswap Stars, which was scheduled to go on November 15.

This will be the ninth edition of the event that sees local celebrities perform a ballroom dance routine in support of hospice. Last year’s event raised $80,000.

“We are thrilled with the support from Shuswap residents who buy tickets to the event and give so generously through their Star donations to our contestants,” Amanda Moga, chair of the organizing committee, said.

“Special thanks go out to our community-minded dancers, who volunteer their time and put in enormous efforts fundraising on behalf of hospice. Without them, we would have nothing.”

The organizers said they are actively recruiting new dancers for the 2025 event, which will take place at the Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union Recreation Centre.
