Dozens of weapons seized in Sutherland Avenue bust
Kelowna RCMP are reporting a bust earlier this month during which three handguns, a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, drugs, and drug paraphernalia were seized.
Police said 25 other weapons including realistic replica handguns, knives, crossbows and brass knuckles were also found March 13 when the Proactive Enforcement Unit (PEU) served a search warrant on the 1300-block of Sutherland Avenue.
A 41-year-old woman and 25-year-old man were arrested and later released from custody pending further investigation.
In a media release RCMP Insp. Corey Kilborn, Investigative Services Officer in Charge, said Kelowna RCMP detachment and its PEU would continue to target, investigate and disrupt local drug traffickers “… in order to hold those who negatively impact the safety of our community accountable.”
