Respiratory infection outbreak declared at Vernon LTC

Interior Health has declared a respiratory illness outbreak at a local long-term care facility.
The health authority identified the outbreak at the Noric House Wednesday, Feb. 26, stating it was affecting the entire facility.
IH stated measures were in place to reduce the risk of further transmission. Those included enhanced cleaning practices, more use of personal protective equipment, cancelling outings and activities, and rescheduling non-emergency medical appointments.
The respiratory infection identified at the Monashee Mews in Lumby Tuesday was still considered an outbreak as of time of publication.
