Interior Health declared two illness outbreaks at senior living facilities in the Okanagan Tuesday.

IH said reported a gastrointestinal infection outbreak at the Orchard Manor long-term care facility Feb. 25.

A respirator infection was also declared at the Monashee Mews long-term care facility that same day.

Both outbreaks were affecting the entire facilities.

The health authority stated measures had been put in place for the two facilities to contain the outbreak, including increased use of personal protective equipment, increased cleaning, cancelling activities and outings, and rescheduling non-urgent medical appointments.
