Coldstream Welcome Signs

Coldstream exploring options for new welcome signs

Feb 21, 2025 | 11:38 AM

The District of Coldstream are looking to update its signage at the municipal borders.

A district staff report outlined two options for new “Welcome to Coldstream” signs.

The first option was for two metal signs, erected at the boundary points of Highway 6.

The metal signs and installation would cost $8,000, plus taxes, and could be funded through the Canada Community-Building Fund.

Alternatively, the District could install two wooden signs at the aforementioned sites, though that would cost $16,000, plus taxes, and would be funded through the same source.

Another option in the report was not installing any new signs, though the report noted this would “cause Coldstream to lose visual waypoints for its geographical boundaries.”

The staff report recommended the District go with the metal sign option.

Coldstream Council will receive the report for discussion at the regular meeting Monday, Feb. 24
