Icy Road Conditions

Spallumcheen warns incoming rain could cause icy road conditions

Feb 20, 2025 | 2:40 PM

The Township of Spallumcheen has warned that rain in the forecast could cause adverse road conditions in the area.

With the rain, and temperatures in the North Okanagan increasing, the Township said there was a risk of increased ice buildup on area roads, especially those with gravel surfaces.

The municipality will dispatch its grader to cut ice buildup and sand roads to improve traction, stating work will be done over the weekend on a priority basis to ensure public safety.

In the meantime, motorists were advised to be cautious and drive to conditions.
