System maintenance may impact water quality for Foothills, BX and East Hill areas

Work by Greater Vernon Water on a distribution system may affect some local residents’ water.

GVW said it was doing maintenance work at a distribution valve on Black Rock Road between Feb. 18 and 21, and warned that the work may cause increased cloudiness in the tap water for properties in the Foothills, BX and East Hill areas during that time.

In addition to the increased turbidity, people may notice a change in their water pressure as a result of the maintenance.

People who experience the cloudy or low pressure water were advised to run their taps on cold until the pressure returns and the water runs clear. GVW recommended this process be done using an outside tap.
