Major Crime Unit’s 2023 Coldstream murder investigation continues with search for persons of interest

The Southeast District Major Crime Unit said the deaths of Camilo Alonso and Jacob Rommann that occurred in Coldstream in 2023 have been classified as murders and Mounties continue to search for two suspects.

“There are people out there with knowledge of the deaths of Camilo Alonso and Jacob Rommann and we are asking those individuals to come forward and contact the police,” Staff Sergeant Jason Smart, with the SED MCU, said.

“This investigation remains a priority for the SED MCU and it is important to police that the person(s) responsible be held accountable.”

Shortly after 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 17, 2023 local police received a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in the 8500 block of Clerke Rd.

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered the two bodies inside the home, along with one person suffering from potentially life-threatening injuries.

At the time, the deaths were deemed suspicious, and the SED MCU took over the case.

Investigators continue to search for two men, considered people of interest, who have not yet been identified.
