Road reconstruction work to resume Tuesday

The reconstruction of the 32nd Ave. and 38th Street intersection is set to resume next week.

The City of Vernon said the project was paused in the late fall, but the contractor was ready to resume the work as early as Feb. 18, following the Family Day long weekend.

The work will see the final stages of the underground utility installation completed, as well as construction of retaining walls, sidewalks, a multi-use path and curbs and gutters, followed by paving and line painting.

Traffic will be maintained on 32nd Avenue during construction, though through traffic to 30th Avenue will be redirected via Bellavista Road and Alexis Park Drive.
