Shuttle bus for the Balloon Glow will run from new location

People wishing to check out the hot air balloons that will be lit up for the Vernon Winter Carnival (VWC) will need to get a ride from a new location.

VWC announced on social media that the free shuttle for the Balloon Glow at Kal Tire Place will pick up and drop off people at the Riviera Divya Sutra Plaza Hotel, formerly Village Green Hotel, parking lot.

There will be no shuttle service offered at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre.

VWC said parking at the site will be limited and encouraged patrons to take the shuttle service. People can also get a 20 per cent discount with Uride by using the promo code SAFEURIDE.

The Balloon Glow will go from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Kal Tire Place.

The event will be weather dependent and also feature games and activities, vendors, and food trucks.

The Balloon Glow marks the start of the Vernon Winter Carnival, which will see over 100 events run between Feb. 7 and 12, with event details and schedules available at the VWC website.
