Decision Date To Be Scheduled

Evidence submitted for assault with a weapon trial

Feb 6, 2025 | 2:19 PM

The trial of a man accused of assault with a weapon and uttering threats was adjourned for a week.

Dale Babiy, arrested last December on charges of assault with a weapon and uttering threats, appeared in Vernon court for his trial Wednesday, Feb. 5, where evidence was reviewed.

The B.C. Prosecution Service said the matter was adjourned to February 10, when a date for closing submissions would be scheduled.

Babiy was arrested after police received a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle in Vernon. RCMP used a spike strip to stop the vehicle and Babiy allegedly tried to flee on foot but was apprehended.
