Co-ops across Western Canada, including the Armstrong Regional Co-op (ARC), are accepting applications for its annual program to benefit communities by creating or enhancing public amenities.

The Co-op Community Spaces program has $1-million to be distributed to capital projects with a focus on recreation, environmental conservation, and urban agriculture.

Eligible charities, non-profits and community service co-operatives can apply for grants between $25,000 and $150,000 through the program.

“The Armstrong Regional Cooperative is proud to support organizations and projects that make a difference to our members and our community” ARC marketing and community relations manager, Jason Keis, said.

“We encourage all local community organizations working on eligible projects, who could benefit from capital funding to apply.”

Applications can be submitted online between Feb. 1 and Mar. 3, 2025.

The Co-op Community Spaces program launched in 2015 and since then had distributed $13.5-million in support of 189 projects across Western Canada. Those projects included 132 recreational facilities, 38 urban agriculture spaces, and 19 conservation areas.
