Gas prices jump 11 cents per litre in Vernon

The price at the pumps in Vernon have jumped ahead of the holidays.

The majority of gas stations in Vernon brought their prices for regular gasoline up to 161.9¢ Friday, Dec.19.

That marked an 11.4 cent increase from the previous day’s average prices.

One station, the Chevron on 32nd Street, had its price set at 162.9¢, while the Super Save stations on 32nd Street and 25th Avenue were selling gas at 159.9¢ per litre.

Gas Buddy reported local prices were also up 11 cents from those reported Friday, Dec. 13, and were up one cent from November’s average price.

The fuel price tracking website also said gas in Vernon was six cents more expensive than it was a year ago.

As of Friday, the Centex station in Cranbrook had the most affordable fuel in B.C. at 145.9¢ per litre. The cheapest fuel in the North Okanagan Friday was listed at 151.9¢ at the Tempo station in Enderby.
