Greater Vernon Chamber running Rally the Valley shop local campaign

The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is encouraging people shop local this holiday season.

The Chamber, in partnership with the Downtown Vernon Association (DVA) and the Village Green Shopping Centre, launched its Rally the Valley campaign to celebrate and reward people who choose to shop local.

People can participate in the campaign by taking the Shop Local Pledge, after which they will be entered into a draw to win $1,000 in gift cards,

Additionally, the Chamber has a 12 Days of Deals campaign running from Dec. 3-15, where it will showcase exclusive offers from local businesses.

The organization representing local businesses said shopping local puts money back into the community, keeps shopping close to home, reduces the risk of fraud, ensures the growth and stability of the community, and provides shoppers with personal and expert customer service.
