Police investigating shots fired at Days Inn in Vernon

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP have launched an investigation into a shooting outside a hotel Friday evening.

Officers responded to the 5100-block of 26th Street around 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, for reports of shots fired. Photos from the scene provided to Vernon Matters showed multiple cruisers blocking the entrance and exit to the Days Inn parking lot Friday evening.

Mounties said evidence collected at the scene was consistent with a firearm being discharged.

“No injuries were reported and findings from our investigation so far indicate this to be targeted and not a random act,” Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, said.

Police ask that anyone with information relating to the case contact the Vernon detachment at 250-545-7171 and quote file #2024-19624. Anonymous reports can also be reported through Crime Stoppers online or at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
