Nominations open for Good Citizen of the Year award

JCI Vernon is seeking nominees for it’s annual award.

The local branch of the Junior Chamber International is accepting nominations for the Good Citizen of the Year award throughout November and December.

“We are asking the community to nominate a Vernonite who has gone above and beyond to serve the city,” Michael Isobe, JCI Vernon Chapter President, said in an email release.

“Vernon has so many volunteers and good people who work quietly behind the scenes and we would like to recognize one of those citizens and let them know that Vernon appreciates them.”

The winner of the community award will get to walk in the Vernon Winter Carnival Parade, and Kidston Helm Ross Lawyers will make a $500 donation to the charity of the winner’s choice.

Nominations can be sent to jcivernongoodcitizen@gmail.com.
