A man charged with the murder of his ex-wife in Lumby still does not have a trial date.

Vitali Stefanski is facing a charge of second-degree murder in the death of his ex-wife, Tatjana Stefanski.

Tatjana was reportedly abducted from her home in Lumby in April of 2024, and the following day her body was found in a rural location.

Vitali was located in a nearby area and was placed under arrest.

Vitali Stefanski and his counsel appeared in Vernon court Thursday, Sept. 12, to review disclosure from Crown counsel. It was the third such meeting for Stefanski since mid-August.

The B.C. Prosecution Service said the accused is due back in court on Sept. 25 for an arraignment hearing to determine whether the case should go to a preliminary hearing, or directly to a supreme court trial.

The Prosecution Service noted trial dates had yet to be set, and no pleas had been entered.
