Police investigate targeted shooting in Vernon

The RCMP has launched an investigation into a shooting that took place in Vernon early Wednesday morning.

Police said reports of shots fired in a residential neighbourhood were received at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sept. 11.

Officers responded and confirmed that multiple shots had been fired at a residence in the 4700-block of Pleasant Valley Road.

“No injuries were reported and the findings from our initial investigation suggest this was targeted, and not a random act,” Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, stated.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident was asked to contact the Vernon detachment at 250-545-7171 and quote file #2024-15539.
