Street Hockey tourney returning to Kelowna

Canada’s largest street hockey tournament will happen in Kelowna at the end of the month, and will cause some traffic disruptions.

The Play On! Street Hockey Festival will go at Kelowna’s Water Street on August 31 and September 1.

This will be the ninth time Kelowna has hosted the tournament since 2010.

The event, which will take place on the road outside Prospera Place, will require parking and traffic restrictions over the weekend. Water Street between Sunset Drive and Cawston Avenue will be closed from 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, to 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1. This closure will allow for the set-up, play, and tear down of the event.

Parking at Prospera Place will also be partially restricted, though the lot will remain open to the public over the weekend.
