Husband Road still closed as permits sought

Husband Road in Coldstream is still closed to traffic at Kalamalka Road.

The District said work to remove the existing road surface and replace it with new pavement has been delayed as the area has been identified as an archeological zone.

An application for a Site Alteration Permit has been submitted, with Coldstream saying the Provincial Archeology Branch agreed to expedite issuance of the permit. However, a timeline from the provincial agency was not provided.

The District noted that the beach parking lot remains open, but can only be accessed from the Middleton Way side of Husband Road.
