The RCMP is investigating a suspicious death at a Vernon residence.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP were responding to a call of a disturbance at a home in the 2000 Block of 32nd Street at around 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, when the deceased person was found inside the home.

Police arrested three people at the scene, though they were later released pending further investigation.

“The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit has deemed the death suspicious and the matter is being investigating as a homicide,” Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, said.

“Our Serious Crimes Unit, with the assistance of RCMP Forensic Identification Services, are continuing to collect evidence at the scene in support of the ongoing investigation. Indications are that this is an isolated incident with no known risk to the public.”

Police did not release any other information, including the victim’s identity.
