Jul 30, 2024 | 1:28 PM

The Regional District fo Central Okanagan has increased its outdoor watering restrictions.

Effective as of 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, all six water systems in the RDCO were under Stage 3 water restrictions.

The restrictions only permit outdoor lawn and garden irrigation one day per week. People with even street addresses may water on Saturdays, while people living with odd number addresses can only water outside on Sundays. Residents with automated sprinklers should only water been midnight and 6 a.m. on their designated days, while those who manually water may do so between 6 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and midnight on their respective days.

The restrictions also prohibit the filling of swimming pools, hot tubs, garden ponds or decorative fountains; and the washing of vehicles, boats, driveways, sidewalks or patios.

The Stage 3 water restrictions were issued for all the water systems with the intent of ensuring that system reservoirs are replenished and there’s an adequate water supply for everyone.
