UPDATE: Wildfire near Revelstoke ‘Being Held’

Fire crews have managed to make some ground on the wildfire burning in the Shuswap.

The B.C. Wildfire Service said the Wap Creek Wildfire, located south of Three Valley Gap and West of Revelstoke, was considered Being Held as of 5:46 p.m. Tuesday, July 16.

The fire was discovered Monday morning and at the time was 2.1 hecatres in size, but doubled in size to 4.2 hectares overnight.

At last update, the fire was still 4.2 hectares in size. The BCWS said the suspected cause of the fire was lightning.
